How You Can Help

The Jason N. Marchand Memorial Scholarship receives no public or government funding, it is 100% dependant on the donations of those who wish to join with our mission. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the scholarship fund, as the overhead of the foundation itself is paid for privately out of the pockets of Jason's family.

We ask you to consider giving a donation of any amount to the scholarship fund. You can contact me, Eric Parsons, by sending me an email, or you can contact Debbie via email. Donations can be made directly to the bank where the scholarship fund is by sending a check or money order (no cash, please) to:

The Jason N. Marchand Memorial Scholarship Fund

c/o West Union Bank

PO Box 305

West Union, WV 26456

Should you simply want to ensure the legitimacy of the scholarship fund, or you have questions related to the banking end of it, you can contact them at (800) 891-2361 and choosing the West Union Branch.

We are currently working toward a 501(c)(3) certification, and we are able to provide receipts should you request one.

A Small Way To Say Thanks

I have been told time and again by those who have served that simply saying "Thank you!" to them means quite a lot. By donating, you can help us make a small dent in the cost of sending a deserving student to college.

Your donation truly does go a long way--not only does 100% of every donation go directly into the scholarship fund, you are truly making a difference in the life of a student in Doddridge County.

As many as 1 in 4 high school aged students in Doddridge County simply cannot afford to attend school, or are unable to cover some of the associated costs, such as books, in order to attend. You really can make a difference.

Okay...So How Much Do YOU Contribute?

That's a fair question; I'd ask it myself. The truth is, I can't give you an exact amount.

The reason is is that it the amount is constantly changing. I have 1% of every one of my paychecks deposited into the scholarship fund (with an additional 1% going to a separate fund for Jason's daughter, Savannah; should you wish to know more about that, please email me). In addition, my wife and I agreed that any of the overhead, particularly that of the website, etc., would be paid for out of our pockets, and I invest quite a bit of time working toward our cause.
